Almost all the people believe that every education system In the world has some or the other flaws and it is next to impossible to have an ideal education system that will work for everyone, because everyone has there own priorities and and ideas for an Ideal education system. Even though the students of Asian countries specifically India, achieve higher academic achievements, and they rank at the top on math and science tests. America is still a superpower, the American education system Is still one of the best in the world.

With increasing test scores and almost highest academic achievement, people have questioned if the current educational system is the indeed the one that works for everyone. On the other side of the Pacific. The situation Is totally different. If the US educational system is better than the their system, is there a need for them to adopt the American educational system ? America is the land of opportunity, which is famous for its democratic society and unique culture.

People in America like to be free, to do whatever they want to do without any restrictions. This belief Is reflected in the American educational system. In American schools, teachers and students are at the same social level. Students are encouraged to exchange their own opinions with the teacher. While In Indian schools, students are required to strictly follow the assigned textbook and to not raise questions on anything outside the text. Analytical and reasoning skills are discouraged and crushed at the elementary level itself.

This blind education continues for twelve to fifteen years and by this time the young brain is completely brain washed and starts believing that everything written In a book Is ultimate and already everything has been Invented by a white man. From an early age, students in the American educational system have been taught hat they have the ability to achieve whatever they want to be, but rarely have been told how they can achieve their goal. This is because in America there are so many ways to achieve one’s dream.

Regardless of what their dream Is, Indian students are taught a single method of achieving their dream, Hard work. There is little or next to no emphasis on having a goal, it is assumed that if the students work hard they will achieve something or the other in their life. Also, the students are forced to make a decision about there area of expertise even before they start of with their high school, at a time when they do not even know about the deferent career options available to them thus, making them opt for a field which their parents thing is right for the children.

Due to their streamlined education In high school, the students have a limited choices of courses to pursue at the university level. In most cases students entering the university are already tired of what they are studying because that Is not their own chosen field of action but they have no option except to continue with their education In that specific area as they do not have the required academic inundation to switch to another major. Moreover, There is no relationship between the Education and the Industry in India.

The students are presented with bookish facts and figures, there Is no scope for practical learning. In fact, I know professors who have been teaching electrical engineering for ages but have not visited a power t Off station In tenet Tie. I nerve also, napes to De a Eliminate console AT “good” professions in India, most parents want their children to either be doctors, engineers or lawyers. Creative and Artistic professions are not even considered as professions in India, hey are more like recreational activities.

The University education in the US is practical and applicable, the students are given a chance to explore new fields of education in the form of General Education courses and decide what their calling is. They have an option to have a hands on understanding of their work with practical training options such as an internship program. In other words, American Education system is a balanced platforms for the students to realize their potential and be what they aspire to be. Thus, can this education system be called the “Ideal Education System” ?.
