School programs should reflect the diversity and uniqueness of the student body represented in the district. Education helps to develop thoughts that are unique to each child. Students should never be thought of categorically as being the same, as their individual needs and abilities are as varied as could be imagined. Each child will learn at a different pace, making Individual attention needed.
Group participation activities and one-on- one activities should be used interchangeably while implementing a visual, auditory, kinesthesia, and tactile approach to reinforce the topics being taught. In addition, students receiving special education services should be provided as many opportunities during the day as possible to Interact with and learn from their typically developing peers. The benefits for all students (typically developing or not) through inclusive learning have been proven through decades of research and show hat all parties involved increase their skill levels in all social and academic arenas.
School climate affects learning dramatically. Language, behavior, dress, physical surroundings, safety, and the beliefs of the school are parts of this climate that enhance learning. In order to effectively teach, and therefore have students effectively learn, valid assessments are a necessity. Obtaining competency in academic, interpersonal, and technological skills increases each student’s personal growth and opportunity to reach their highest potential.
