Padilla Dr. Lindsey Lawrence English 1203 9 September 10 Event that have a positive Impact in my Live As a child one of the most positive events that impact my life that broadened my knowledge about what it means to be somebody. It was a world famous event that was televised many years ago the trip to the moon. The trip of the moon was televised when I was still a child. This event has had a positive impact in my life. As a child, I had the dream of becoming an astronaut. To become an astronaut unfortunately that dream never came through.
Now as a parent, I encourage my daughters to put close attention to those positive events that they may encounter in their lives, because one of those events may lead them to a successful career. Putting a men in the moon impacted my life because a desire to become an astronaut, it gave me a respect for science, and it motivated me to get educated. The story took place in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico’s second largest city. This event began when I was still a child and lived in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. At that time I was attending Elementary School (called primarias in Mexico).
That morning, as I was feeling a little sleepy I was walking to school, when suddenly something attracted my eye’s attention. In a house that I was passing by, there was a live televised event. I went closer and stood next to one of the house windows and took a peek inside the house. When I was trying to see what was going on, I notice that many adults were watching something on the T. V. To my surprise there was a spaceship traveling to the moon. After the astronauts landed, I saw the astronauts walking and jumping in the moon’s surface.
Watching the astronauts running and jumping on the moon’s surface was amazing, looking closely to the T. V. I didn’t realize that I was late for school. The televised event lasted a very long time. I was so amazed that I forgot completely about school. Standing outside, I remained looking through the window. The house was packed with adults, watching very closely to everything that was happening. Their minds were so occupied, that nobody noticed me. The moment I realized that I was late for school; I didn’t care about missing school that time. I kept watching, very closely trying to follow the astronauts.
After a long time, finally the trip to the moon came to an end. I was surprise, how the adults reacted right afterwards. Outside the house where I was standing, I could see their faces full of joy or pride. On my way back home I felt something really estrange. I was so deeply impacted by this event, that I realized that I will like to become an astronaut. To be an astronaut it has been one of my dreams, even when I was still a child when the event trip to the moon was televised. That desire came to took part of my life never did achieve it, but I still dreaming how great it would be, if I were able to be an astronaut.
Amazingly, a short period of time later, a movie called Trip to the Moon came to theaters. I was a little surprised to hear that the movie was in theaters, so soon. Without thinking too much, the first moment I heard that it was available; I went to the theater to watch the movie. The movie was played in two sections with an intermission. I remained seated; I never left my seat. During the movie, I wondered how will it be for me to be up there doing what the astronauts were doing I pictured myself as part of the astronauts group, experiencing how magnificent or weird it would feel walking on the moon’s surface.
I may say without science this event probably never could be achieved, thanks to science made possible to put the men on the moon. My obsession was so captivated, that in that night I dreamed myself in an astronaut suit. I dreamed that I was jumping, playing with the rest of the crew on the moon’s surface. In fact, the very next day, I went to see the movie once more. Actually, I saw the movie daily for the entire week. I asked my friends, whom went with me to see the movie for the first time. They said no, because the movie didn’t cause the same impact on them like it did on me.
That didn’t stop from going to see the movie one more time. As soon the movie started, amazingly, I felt the same emotion when I saw the movie for the first time. As time has passed, the same movie became available in V. H. S. as there were no C. D’s back then. So I went to the movie place and I bought the movie, and I as of today I am still have that movie. I have to admire scientist, because scientists make it possible for men to travel outside of the earth’s atmosphere. Today’s science has achieved sufficient technology to allow humans to leave the atmosphere and explore space.
Science can be defining in many categories, technology which I categorized of much importance in this modern era. I recall from 30 years ago, technology was not that great like today but through the years it has advance much. The event of the men on the moon impacted my life in such a way which motivated me to go back to school and get educated. Education is the foundation for anybody with the desire to be somebody in life, basic education in present time is not enough to achieve great things in live. In my childhood I had a great obsession of becoming an astronaut that never took place, because we were very poor.
From my childhood through my manhood I grew up with the desire to be an astronaut and travel in space, and as of today, I will give anything for a chance to become an astronaut, without a doubt I will take that chance. In conclusion, now that I grew older, I encouraged my daughters to take advantage of the opportunity of being young and get a good education. An education takes a long time to achieve, but whoever is persistent and focuses closely on their education, will later in life be compensated. The only things that remain from this event are memories.
This event had a tremendous positive impact in my life, and the desire to become an astronaut t that never came through. Instead, I tell my daughters how that event changed my life around and motivated me to go back to school and be somebody in life. I came to realize that a simple thing like that event can have a positive impact in a person’s life. It is very desirable, to become a better person through the process of learning. It is up to us to turn them into positive thoughts, keeping in mind that those impacts can be good or bad. We just need to know how to use them positively to live a better life.

The United State’s Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the moon on July 20, 1960, and the first man ever walk on the moon’s surface.
