Without proper ovulation or when no ovulation, there would be no eggs to be fertilized and leads to the failure of a successful production of embryos, occurring when a sperm comes into contact with the egg. The failure of a regular ovulation is named as ovulatory dysfunction and when there is no ovulation is termed as annovulation. How then does age and weight relate to infertility among women? Until today, there are countless clinical trials revealing the declining of female infertility in relating to the increasing of age in contrast to the effect of aging towards male infertility.

Every female is said to be born with a unique supply of eggs from the beginning of the menstrual cycle until the age of menopause. As age increases, the duration of egg production increases and in the end stops producing. A healthy egg is said to be produced during the early age of menstruation when a woman is in her teens and in the twenty’s, or be named as the peak of fertility. Upon reaching the late thirty’s, and beyond forty’s, the remaining eggs may not be potential in fertilization and leading to an unsuccessful pregnancy.

Scientifically, the presence of fat relates directly to the production of estrogen in the body which interferes with ovulation and menstruation. If a woman is either overweight or underweight, the body may be having trouble in regulating a natural menstrual cycle. The overweight is said to have high level of estrogen as fat contribute to the hormone production, whereas the underweight may have problems in producing enough estrogen which in the end halts menstruation.

When these two factors negatively effect the menstruation and ovulation, pregnant then is concluded to be less successful thus relates again to the female infertility.
