To ensure that the students interact with each other and get to know as many people as possible. PROCESS – ?The introduction started off with a brief presentation on teamwork (The story about flight of the geese) and then the mentors introduced themselves with a rap song backed by a ppt. ?There were three activities in all, each giving out a different message and in order to ensure that the mentees get to know each other well and have enough scope for interaction, for each activity, they were shuffled into different groups (5 groups with 10-12 mentees in each) using different strategies. In the first activity, each group had to come up with a jingle or a song to introduce themselves, and the jingle would have to include each group members name. The objective of this activity was to ensure that they get to know each other, at least their names. oThe second activity was a communication game wherein they were given sufficient time to develop a new language and one member had to be blindfolded who would be directed by his/her group members using only the newly created language to collect certain objects in a specific order.

This was followed by a brief discussion within each group regarding the strategy and the experience about the game. oThe third activity was a team building activity using hula hoops wherein each group had two hulas and the hula had to pass through the entire body of each member of the group in the opposite direction in the lowest time possible. ?The program was concluded by a short interactive session with the mentees; a few of them voluntarily came up and gave their feedback about their experience etc. OUTCOME – The overall outcome of the program turned out to be good. It was well planned and well organized and well coordinated.

However there were certain areas that require improvement and certain unforeseen crisis which should have been looked into. Like for e. g. proper coordination and clarity about the game rules among the mentors, Efficiency in giving instructions about the activities to the mentees. But in spite of these drawbacks the crisis were well handled and did not cause any sort of chaos, and the objectives were met, so overall it was a great outcome. LEARNINGS – Planning and organizing skills, Team work and coordination, leadership skills, communication skills, managing crises, working under stress, development of confidence level.
