Both styles of motivation are designed to meet the needs of employees so they feel safe and productive in the work place. Intrinsic motivation meets needs that motivate one to grow personally, achieve goals, become responsible and be recognized for their work, extrinsic factors fit physiological, safety, and security needs. Extrinsic factors or hygiene factors can either supply the employee with a high level of satisfaction. The hygiene factors don’t motivate the employees to perform at a high level such as intrinsic motivators, but they do allow the worker to be happy with their Job therefore staying dedicated o it.

Examples of Intrinsic motivation are: Recognizing achievement: being appreciated in front of your peers, by management for the work they have been doing. A certificate of achievement would help in this area this would even encourage the other employees to do a better Job. Their responsibilities: giving the employee a sense of value at the Job by placing them over an area at the work place. Advancement in the workplace: This is a big one for every employee because every employee needs to have the opportunity to be promoted. Examples of extrinsic motivation:

Security of their Job: Letting the employees know they are valuable to the company Wages: everyone deserves a good paying Job so raises would be a good motivational factor Relations with coworkers: an unhealthy work atmosphere will result in disgruntled employees, clients or customers. So having a good connection with the co-workers will be beneficial to the employee and the Job Their personal lives: Taking into consideration all employees has a life outside of work. All of these motivate employees to perform their best. Anytime a person feels appreciated with signs of rewards they are willing to give more of their selves.
