Dela Rosa, a fourth year student of BS Industrial Engineering and I am the auditor of SONs 2009-2010.
I am afraid of leadership but I have the desire of the nation’s transformation, the kind of spirit which Bishop Oriel Ballano trying to transfer to all Doulosians. At first, I don’t really know what is meant to be an officer of a Christian organization because it is quite different to the customary leadership. But God is so awesome that He slowly reveals to me that the greatest thing here on earth is to serve him. And increasingly He satisfied the desire of my heart on what I am longing for our nation.
Today, my heart is craving to witness the prophesied transformation to our nation that even I saw this vision. During my devotion, I always say to God, “This is a strange feeling; – I have the desire to write a history with Jesus with undeniable joy within my spirit! ” During the first month of being an officer, I encountered many problems particularly in my time. I find it hard in managing my time just to balance my study and ministry. But God showed me His eternal love that time is not a constraint.
Then God said to me, “Show me a timeless commitment and love and I will give you eternal satisfaction”. If you really understand the love of God, which is eternal, then you will spend your time with Him. Every step of the day, different kinds of challenges is showing in my way saying; “If you truly believe in Jesus, then conquer me”. I smile at them and said, “I don’t need to conquer you, because I believe that Jesus already did it on the cross”. That even today, I always take problem as an opportunity to grow and glow. I consider it pure joy whenever I ace trials of many kinds because I know that is just the testing of my faith that will develop my perseverance. I encountered different people each with unique identity, a believer or unbeliever, a leader or a member, passionate or not, committed or not, intelligent or a little bit and one thing I learn; “Deep within their being, they have the heart longing a love from Jesus. They have a soul that God created to have a thirst of His presence”. That is why; I always look to people as the most precious thing in the eyes of God.
I consider their soul not what they have done or doing, for I know that God has a plan to all of us. As God had given us the grace, then forgive people if they did something not pleasing, showing humility and consideration. I always thank God for those who help me by giving instruction and provision during my time as an officer. I cannot deny that I grow from those instructions and provisions that all my life I will never forget. I now know why God authorize them to be my leaders.
It is to deliver the instruction of God to me as Jesus and the God the Father. As a part of the team of officers, I saw how important the unity is. We can’t reach our goal if we are divided, but a united heart of twelve people is powerful than a thousand soldiers. Then God showed me how to become united, it is by having one spirit –a spirit from God. This presence of God will help us become united at all times for He has the Word of God. Today, I am so in love with God because of the growth I am experiencing.
And I want to share it to other people that life will be found on Jesus. And if YOU truly love Jesus, then you can give the best of what you have –excellence. ____________________________________________________________ __________ Titus 3:8 “This is a trustworthy saying.
