It holds the goods and services that businesses hold in stock.

Different businesses have their own way to handling their inventory. It depends on what kind of business it is. An inventory control system is a set of hardware and software based tools that automate the process of tracking inventory. The kinds of inventory tracked with an inventory control system can include almost any type of quantifiable good, including food, clothing, books, equipment, and any other item that consumers, retailers, or holesalers may purchase. Modern inventory control systems are almost exclusively based on barcode technology.

Though barcodes were initially developed to automate the process of grocery store checkout, their ability to encode a wide variety of alphabetic and numeric symbols makes them ideal for encoding merchandise for inventory applications. Inventory control systems work in real-time using wireless technology to transmit information to a central computer system as transactions occur. Decision support system, A way to model data and make quality decisions are ased on decision support system. It is a system that helps the company to analyze and solve a certain problem or to make a strategy.

First, collect data, next, the collected data will be analyzed and last, from the analysis, decisions and strategies can now be made. But it is still up to the people how they will execute these strategies. Inventory management is the process of efficiently overseeing the constant flow of units into and out of an existing inventory. This process usually involves controlling the transfer in of units in order to prevent the inventory from ecoming too high, or dwindling to levels that could put the operation of the company into Jeopardy.

Competent inventory management also seeks to control the costs associated with the inventory, both from the perspective of the total value of the goods included and the tax burden generated by the cumulative value of the inventory. Balancing the various tasks of inventory management means paying attention to three key aspects of any inventory. The first aspect has to do with time. In terms of materials acquired for inclusion in the total inventory, this means nderstanding how long it takes for a supplier to process an order and execute a delivery.

Inventory management also demands that a solid understanding of how long it will take for those materials to transfer out of the inventory be established. Knowing these two important lead times makes it possible to know when to place an order and how many units must be ordered to keep production running smoothly. Calculating what is known as buffer stock is also key to effective inventory management. Essentially, buffer stock is additional units above and beyond the minimum number required to maintain production levels.

For example, the manager may aetermlne tnat It would De a good Idea to Keep one or two extra unlts 0T a glven machine part on hand, Just in case an emergency situation arises or one of the units proves to be defective once installed. Creating this cushion or buffer helps to minimize the chance for production to be interrupted due to a lack of essential parts in the operation supply inventory. Inventory management is not limited to documenting the delivery of raw materials and the movement of those materials into operational process.

The movement of those materials as they go through the various tages of the operation is also important. Typically known as a goods or work in progress inventory, tracking materials as they are used to create finished goods also helps to identify the need to adjust ordering amounts before the raw materials inventory gets dangerously low or is inflated to an unfavorable level. Finally, inventory management has to do with keeping accurate records of finished goods that are ready for shipment.

This often means posting the production of newly completed goods to the inventory totals as well as subtracting the most recent shipments of finished goods to buyers. When the company has a return policy in place, there is usually a sub-category contained in the finished goods inventory to account for any returned goods that are reclassified as refurbished or second grade quality. Accurately maintaining fgures on the finished goods inventory makes it possible to quickly convey information to sales personnel as to what is available and ready for shipment at any given time.

FOREIGN LITERATURE According to Ben Frederick, “The History of Communication Technology: Postal System” the article said: Different from many other types of communication that send lectronic signals, the mail system involves actual transportation of a message, either a letter from home or a bill from the electric company. This transportation path originating from sender to the recipient has become a sophisticated network of carriers ranging from people, to airplanes, to tractor trailers, to smaller vehicles. The U. S. Mail system was very responsible for the improvement and creation of the transportation system throughout the country.

Anytime a new mode of transportation was invented, the US Postal Service would willingly try it out in hopes of finding new ays to decrease travel time for mail. l International mail is a key means of furthering economic, social, and cultural links between nations. The international postal system is in itself an outstanding example of worldwide organization and mutual trust. A postal administration relies completely upon the postal authorities of other countries to play their parts in ensuring that its foreign mails reach their destination.

International cooperation in this field has been greatly facilitated by the Universal Postal Union since 1875. It has built a comprehensive international organization, with membership composed of numerous sovereign states and several dependent territories. I ne postal aamlnlstratlons tnat are not represented generally Tollow tne rules of the UPIJ. These fundamental rules of the international postal service are to be found in the Universal Postal Convention and General Regulations and have been little changed since adoption of the Bern Treaty.

The first basic principle is that all member countries form “a single postal territory for the reciprocal exchange of correspondence. ” From it is derived the principle of freedom of transit: every ember country guaranteeing to respect the inviolability of transit mails and to forward them by the most rapid transport used for its own mails. 2 According to Barry Grey, “The gutting of the US Postal Service”, his article said: The United States Postal Service (USPS) announced Monday that it will close more than half of its mail processing centers, eliminate 28,000 Jobs and end overnight delivery of first-class mail.

The plan, part of a huge cost-cutting and Job-slashing program, is to take effect as early as next March, abolishing standards for timely delivery of mail that have been in effect for 40 years. The transformation of the Postal Department into the USPS followed a nationwide wildcat strike by postal workers in March of 1970 that ended only when Nixon deployed thousands of US troops to man the New York City postal system. The change, directed in the first instance against the postal workers, was a major step in the direction of the privatization of the postal service.

Mondays downgrading of mail delivery marks an acceleration of the process of undermining and breaking up the federal agency, long seen by corporate interests as an intolerable intrusion on their control of the market and an obstacle to increasing heir profits. The domination of society by an obscenely wealthy oligarchy, which subordinates all needs to its rapacious pursuit of even greater wealth, is patently incompatible with the most basic requirements of modern, mass society.

That domination, and the ever-greater concentration of wealth alongside mass social misery, demonstrates the irreconcilable opposition between social needs and a system based on private ownership of the means of production and the profit principle. The downgrading of mail delivery will, according to postal officials, save the agency $2. 1 billion a year. It is only part ofa broader scheme to slash 220,000 postal jobs, close 3,700 local post offices and end Saturday mail delivery. These moves will, according to postal officials, cut $20 billion from the agency’s annual costs by 2015. According to International Postal system, “the Poor Quality of Many International Address Files Wastes the Resources of Mailers”, the article said: An average of 50 percent of international, in-house address lists, and 60 percent of the addresses in outside lists, require correction, according to Jerry Messer, president, Data Services, an international computer bureau. Current computer technology can solve many of the address problems encountered by international mailers. But the degree of success is highly dependent on the condition of the files given to the merge-purge bureau.

Why are so many lists in poor shape, considering the growth of global direct marketing? Messer cites two reasons: (1) in recent years, many international mailers have achieved good responses despite problems in international addresses. There was little incentive to keep international lists clean. That is changing now. The global financial turmoil is having a negative impact on response. 2) The address files of most direct marketers are domestic. The foreign portions are “add-ons. The study also measures their state of development, providing an insightful look at regional and sector trends and identifying factors that facilitate or obstruct the development of such services. , 70 per cent of Posts believe postal e-services are strategically important for the future. Against this context, the UPIJ is helping its member countries and their designated operators prepare for the future by developing policies and strategies for expanding existing postal services or developing new ones. These include services such as hybrid mail, postal registered e-mail, electronic postal certification marks, e-identity and e-shopping portals. .post platform the I-JPLJ is also overseeing a major strategic project to build a secure . ost platform using the top- level sponsored domain name it obtained from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in 2009. THEORETICAL AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF THE STUDY CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY The researchers of this Post Office Application had an objective stated to be accomplished. The objectives are: To help the end user to lessen the time in data recording. To assure the safety of all the data. To be sufficient and reliable to all times To make every new member easy to teach with this friendly-user program. To be real- time in adding, searching and retrieving data.
