CheckPoint: Teamwork ? Compose a 200- to 300-word response to the following: Employees from the billing department are not receiving the accurate codes and information needed for data entry, slowing production and payment for the doctor. As head of the billing department, you have been delegated to lead a problem-solving team to resolve this issue. How will you choose the members of your team? How will you promote effective teamwork to solve this problem?
The way I would choose the member of the team would be by checking their backgrounds and work ethics to make sure that they are inparcial to the issue, we would have to work together to come up with a plan to inprove the productivity and speed of how things are been handle up to this point. After selecting hard working and motivated individuals, I would talk to the biling department to see what is the major issue for the lack of productivity and why things are generated at such as slow speed. Also if need be I would bring in a team to teach the department time management sikils to help us process payments faster and more efficiently.
Also to promote effictive team work I would have the teamembers get to know each other and their ideas by having weekly workshops where they can all interact with one another. It has been proven that when people get to know each other and are ableto talk about each others ideas and thought they are more bound to work as a team. To promote morale I would do monthly prizes to the teamember that completes the most billing, by doing so this will help every teamember want to give it their 110% on the regular.
