Term Definition
Motion To alter (change) direction, speed, or position of an object.
Change of Motion To alter the direction, speed, or position of an object.
Relative Position The location of an object in relation to other objects. (Near, far, etc)
Time The measurement of the period between events
Direction The path along which something moves, lies, or points.
Distance A measurement of how far from each other 2 points or places are.
Point of Reference The back ground or non-moving object in the background that used to show an object has moved.
Variables The things that can change, be changed, or vary in an investigation.
speed The measurement of how fast an object travels from 1 place to another.
graph Data is represented (shown) by putting points on the graph.
What tools are needed to measure speed? A measuring tape and stop watch.
friction A force that acts on an object when it rubs against another object or material.
force A push or a pull.
gravity A force where one object pulls on another.
