The Toaster That Changed My Life Essay

Riddhi S. Patel 12/6/09 Forensics Speech The Toaster That Changed My Life I walk up the aisle with my father on my arm. I do not know what is happening, and it feels like I am in an endless daze. I look to the right and I see my never-ending family which loves me to no bounds. On the left, I see my soon to be in-laws who are a bit rusted, but with a bit of polish and some love, they can look 20 years younger.

My future brother-in-law seems to hate me because I am not of their kind; I am not a toaster, a refrigerator, or even a microwave. Well, most of my fiancee’s family hates me because I am not like them. Although, all I feel is love for my potential husband, even though I am not sure what he looks like. After the long walk up to the altar, which felt like a lifetime, I see a husband. He is a toaster. A handsome one at the least, he is one of the latest ones. He is a Treubuchet toaster which is basically indestructible.

Into this holy estate these two persons present come now to be joined. If any man can show just cause, why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak, or else hereafter for ever hold his peace. ” I wonder what I am doing at the altar. All of this seems unreal and I do not know what is going on. I then hear the priest say, “You may now kiss the bride. ” My husband somehow manages to lift my veil and then leans in to kiss me…and I wake up. I do not know why I had that dream, but from that day on—for some odd reason—I listened to my iPod less, watched TV less, and stopped using the toaster.
