“You Were Absolutely Fine” is a simple narrative of two people who are wholly out of sync. but either non cognizant of it ( in the girl’s instance ) or non rather certain how to acquire out of it ( in Peter’s instance ) .

“You said such lovely. lovely things. ” she said. “And I’d ne’er known. all this clip. how you had been experiencing about me. and I’d ne’er dared to allow you see how I felt about you. And so last night—oh. Peter beloved. I think that cab drive was the most of import thing that of all time happened to us in our lives. ” Peter has evidently said more than he meant to state and the miss has taken his bibulous confessions to bosom. She’s smitten and is keeping him to the declarations of fondness that he can’t even retrieve.
